Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) have funeral grants available.
This can cover some costs when a loved one has died. This grant is means tested and the maximum payable currently is up to $2,280.72

When someone close to you dies from an injury that ACC cover, they may be able to give you financial support.
They can help with funeral costs, one-off payments and loss of income. The maximum payable at present is $7,024.80
